Commodore’s Letter 2026

Members and friends of the Paupack Sailing Club,

As winter slowly begins to loosen its grip on northeastern Pennsylvania, many of us are already looking ahead to the return of sailing season on beautiful Lake Wallenpaupack. The quiet months of winter are always a time of planning and preparation for the Paupack Sailing Club, and this year has been no exception. Over the past few months, the PSC officers and board of directors have been meeting regularly to finalize the upcoming racing schedule, plan club activities, and make sure everything is in place for another great year on the water.

Last season reminded us that sailing always comes with a bit of unpredictability. While the weather didn’t always cooperate, the camaraderie and spirit of the club were as strong as ever. For 2026, we’re looking forward to a full and active season with plenty of opportunities to sail, race, and spend time together on the lake.

On behalf of the PSC officers and board of directors, I would like to invite all members to join us for our Annual Winter Dinner Meeting. This is always a great opportunity to reconnect after the winter months, share a few sailing stories, and kick off the new season together.

Annual Winter Dinner Meeting Details: Date: Saturday, March 28th, 2026 Happy Hour: 5:30 PM Dinner: 6:30 PM Location: Willowtree Inn Address: 601 Ann St, Stroudsburg, PA 18360Cost: $45.00 per person

As we look ahead to the coming season, our racing program, social events, and community activities are shaping up to make 2026 another exciting year for the club. The Winter Dinner Meeting will also be an opportunity to share updates on the upcoming season, discuss plans for our events, and connect with fellow members before we return to the water.

One of the things that makes the Paupack Sailing Club truly special is our long tradition of supporting charitable causes in our community. Each year our events, including Wally Lake Fest and the annual Rotary Race, help raise funds for organizations that make a difference locally. As we begin planning for this year’s events, we welcome ideas for potential beneficiaries and look forward to discussing them at the Winter Dinner Meeting.

Like most sailing clubs, PSC runs on volunteer energy. From race committee to galley duty and event planning, it’s the willingness of members to pitch in that keeps the club vibrant and active. If you’re looking for a way to get more involved this season, we would love to have your help.

The officers and board are excited about the season ahead, and we look forward to seeing familiar faces and welcoming new members out on the water. Thank you for being part of the Paupack Sailing Club and for continuing to support the traditions that make this club such a great community.

Here’s to a great 2026 season on Lake Wallenpaupack!

Fair winds,

Darryl Bell Commodore Paupack Sailing Club
