The Paupack Sailing Club is a friendly community of sailors enjoying life on the waters of Lake Wallenpaupack in northeastern Pennsylvania.

Whether you're an experienced sailor, just getting started, or simply curious about the sport, you'll find a welcoming group of people ready to help you get out on the water.

Our club combines sailing, learning, and social gatherings in one of the most beautiful boating destinations in the region.
 

Discover Lake Wallenpaupack

Lake Wallenpaupack is one of Pennsylvania’s premier boating and sailing destinations.

Located near Hawley, the lake stretches 13 miles and is the third largest man-made lake in Pennsylvania.

The lake was created in 1926 by PPL Corporation as part of a hydroelectric power project. Today it has become a year-round recreation area known for boating, sailing, fishing, and scenic beauty.

With steady winds and plenty of open water, it’s a perfect place for sailors of all skill levels.

Our Home Port

The Paupack Sailing Club sails from Ironwood Point Marina, located directly on Lake Wallenpaupack.

This marina serves as our home base for races, meetups, and social gatherings throughout the sailing season.

Sunday Races

Sunday races are the heart of the club and one of the best ways to get involved.

Our races welcome everyone from beginners to experienced sailors. The atmosphere is competitive but friendly, and it's a great way to build your sailing skills.

We use the Portsmouth Yardstick handicap system so different types of boats can compete fairly.

After racing, members often gather for a relaxed dockside BBQ and social time, making Sundays a fun and social day at the marina.
 

New to Sailing?

No problem.

You do not need sailing experience to join the Paupack Sailing Club.

Many members started with little or no sailing background. The club is a great place to:

• Learn the basics of sailing
• Crew on another member’s boat
• Meet people who love the lake
• Gain confidence on the water

If you're curious about sailing, attending an event is the easiest way to get started.
